Morphological Differences of Epipremnum aureum as Influenced by Uniconazole and Gibberellin

Abstract
The variegated leaved Epipremnum aureum (pothos) and golden leaved E. aureum ¢¥Lime¢¥ (golden pothos) were experimented to find out the effects of growth regulators (uniconazole as a growth retardant and GA as a promoter) on the morphological characteristics and the ornamental value. In two cultivars, uniconazole reduced the stem length but increased the leaf area. But the difference was not significantly influenced by GA. Uniconazole reduced the aerial root length and the number of aerial roots. Cell diameter of young leaf became larger with uniconazole and was smaller than that of old leaf. Number of stomata in young leaves of pothos was more with GA, whereas golden pothos showed no practical difference with it. Number of stomata in old leaves was less than that of young leaves.
